Fire Safety Codified Requirements for Warehouse and NOC from C.F.O. not required for plot area less than 900 sqm and BUA less than 1400 sqm or storage excluding inflammables, explosives and chemicals.

Background

The Mumbai Fire Brigade works in parallel with the MCGM to review compliance of buildings with fire safety norms. With reference to the same it issues a C.F.O NOC required by the MCGM with reference to building approvals validating compliance of Fire Safety Norms.

    • Reduce windows of clearances.
    • Codify Fire Safety Norms for Warehousing

Content

  • The C.F.O.NOC shall not be required for Warehouses with plot areas less than 900 sqm, BUA less than 1400sqm, or those not storing explosives, inflammable items and chemicals.
  • For the above warehouses, the owner/architect/applicant will need to certify compliance with the issued codes. (for details on the codes please contact the undersigned)
  • The Chief Engineer (DP)shall ensure that the self certification is obtained while granting IOD/CC.

Open Questions

  • In case of disconnect between the plot and BU area, it is assumed that the stringent of the two shall prevail.
