Focus

Arjun of the Mahabharata, was considered as one of the best archers. His success was partly a result of his ability to focus. This can be referred from a famous excerpt of the Mahabharata. When asked by Dhronacharya (the Master) as to what to they see in their target, all the other pupils mentioned that they could see a parrot. However, Arjun said that he could only see the eye of the parrot.

Our focus is our assignments and not our revenue or profit targets if the eye is struck the parrot shall fall.

Integrity

We once heard a story of a king and his minister. The King was gifted a very rare and valuable perfume by a merchant of the neighbouring Kingdom. Once while dressing, a drop of the perfume fell on the dressing table. The King out of instinct wiped it up with a finger and applied it on himself. Realizing his folly, he started to look around to check if anyone had seen him do this. He saw that his minister was passing by his dressing room but was unsure if he had seen it. For the next month the King stayed in unrest  due to this uncertainly. He wanted to put all doubts to rest. So he built a large pond and filled it with the same perfume which he ordered from the neighbouring kingdom. Then he look the minister for a walk around the garden and then to the pond in it to prove the insignificance of the perfume. The minister noticed this and then whispered in the King’s ear,  “Jo boond se gayi, woh haud se nahi aati” (“what is lost to a drop can’t be regained through a pond”).

This is what integrity means to us.

Entropy

The second law of thermodynamics, states that in an enclosed system, the level of chaos or disarrangement (entropy) only increases with time. It is a proved physical law of this universe, that all attempts to make things more orderly only cause more disorder. Such a concept is however, counter-intuitive when we look at the progress of human civilization. But look again and it is very intuitive when you look at things more holistically including the environment, natural resources and human life itself. We are not experts at arguing as to where the balance lies, but it is and will be our endeavour to seek an optimal balance.

We look forward to discuss this with anyone interested in doing so. Do feel free to contact us for more on this.
