Change in Parking Requirements for Information Technology, Biotechnology and Nano Technology Parks

Background

The Urban Development Department of the Government of Maharashtra has issued a notification as dated above modifying the parking requirements for Biotechnology Parks while indicating a future review for a probable modification of the parking requirements for Information Technology and Nano Technology Parks.

Intent

  • Recalibrate and optimize the prescribed parking requirements for Biotechnology, Information Technology and Nano Technology Parks.

Content

  • The parking requirements for Biotechnology Parks have been relaxed by 50% (one space for every 100sqm as against the earlier requirement of one space for 50sqm of floor area or part thereof).
  • The parking requirements for Information Technology and Nano Technology may get modified but the decision is currently kept in abeyance.
  • The Parking requirement for datacenter activity has been defined in line with storage activities as defined via resolution no. 5644 modified vide letter dated 23rd August 2017.
